At ‘See Vietnam Differently’ our sustainable tourism policy is a mixture of both our green and environmental policy’s as well as combining this with the ethics of our company in relation to running our Vietnam Tour operations in a responsible and sustainable manner.
We strongly believe in doing the right thing and making the right ethical company decisions wherever possible, from employing the right people, educating our customers on Vietnam, choosing the correct suppliers and working towards improving the environment around us.
Customers: We aim to be the Vietnam leader in customer delivery, from the first point of contact, through building trust and crafting personal itineraries all the way through to looking after our clients on the ground. We meet our clients when they arrive and sit down with them to go over their itinerary again, pointing out things of interest, giving restaurant and activity recommendations and making any final changes where necessary.
Employees: We aim to recruit people who are proud to work for our company and have the same core values as we do, by providing the best possible personable service as we can. We provide a safe working environment, a very good salary in Vietnam as well as favourable working hours. For example the Vietnam working week is 6 days, which we reduced to 5 days for our staff. We provide internal training as well as sending our staff on external conferences and training programmes as we believe that if we look after our staff in turn it will increase productivity and create loyalty.
Suppliers: We encourage our suppliers to adopt sustainable practices and choose those suppliers that work as close to our own practices as possible. We select small characterful hotels rather than larger properties. This not only gives the client a better holiday experience as we feel that they are much better looked after, but also assists small independent establishments to flourish. This also works for the activity companies that we work closely with. Ones that have the best health and safety records and offer the best in terms of experience and client enjoyment.
Environment: This is a main priority for us and we want to do our bit for the environment and reduce our impact where ever possible. We keep our company waste to a minimum and recycle wherever possible.
Communities: We aim to support the local community that we live and work wherever possible. We donate $10 from every booking to a NGO / charity of our choice; our supported organisations can be seen in the ‘Responsible Tourism’ section further on in this policy. We are also able, due to the nature of our business, make visitors aware of various community projects, NGO’s and charities.
